This is the Lotus Type 80 #1 1979 Test Monaco GP in 1:18 scale by GP Replicas.

The Lotus Type 80, car number 1, was tested by Mario Andretti during the 1979 Monaco Grand Prix at Monte Carlo. Andretti, the 1978 Formula 1 World Champion, was known for his technical acumen and adaptability, making him the ideal driver to test this innovative car. The Lotus 80 was designed with ground-breaking aerodynamics, featuring full ground effect technology that aimed to eliminate the need for traditional front and rear wings. However, during testing at Monaco, a track notorious for its tight corners and elevation changes, the car was fitted with front wings to improve stability. Despite its advanced design, the Lotus 80 struggled with handling issues, particularly in the demanding conditions of Monaco's street circuit. The test at Monaco revealed the car's shortcomings, leading to its limited use in the 1979 season. This test session is remembered as a pivotal moment in Lotus's pursuit of aerodynamic innovation, even though the Lotus 80 ultimately failed to live up to its potential in competition.

This model is hand painted and polished to a beautiful finish and has a sealed body. Resin models are
exceptionally accurate of scale, shape and detail. Each model is created using a variety of production
processes, to achieve this precision. They are produced using a composite material referred to in the
industry as “resin”. Photo etched parts, die-cutting, tampo printing and waterslide decals are often used
for the most authentic replication.
