The BMW M Hybrid V8 #20 from BMW M TEAM WRT was one of BMW’s strongest contenders at the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans, driven by Robin Frijns, René Rast, and Sheldon van der Linde. The Hypercar prototype stood out with its twin-turbocharged V8 hybrid powertrain developed around a Dallara LMDh chassis, producing roughly 640 horsepower while combining speed with endurance efficiency. What made the #20 especially distinctive was its Shell-inspired livery featuring Belgian national colors as a nod to Team WRT’s roots, making it instantly recognizable on track. The car showed impressive pace throughout much of Le Mans and ran near the top five before late mechanical problems dropped it down the order, proving the BMW M Hybrid V8 had the speed to challenge the leading Ferrari and Porsche Hypercars.
